College of Food Science & Technology Explores Collaboration with Istanbul Technical University

On August 17, the College of Food Science & Technology at Nanchang University held an online meeting with Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Türkiye, to discuss the proposed establishment of a joint laboratory in food science and technology, joint research, talent development, and academic exchanges.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Esra Capanoglu Guven and Assoc. Prof. Pelin Bolat from ITU, as well as Prof. Shaoping Nie, Vice President of Nanchang University, and Prof. Junyi Yin, Dean of the College.

Shaoping Nie introduced Nanchang University and highlighted the research strengths of the College of Food Science & Technology. He expressed the hope that the joint laboratory would serve as a platform for practical cooperation in talent exchange, joint research, and high-level international collaboration. Junyi Yin introduced the development and strengths of food science at Nanchang University.

Esra Capanoglu Guven introduced ITU and its Department of Food Engineering and expressed interest in strengthening joint research, researcher and student exchanges, and talent development. Pelin Bolat introduced ITU’s international cooperation and China-related activities and shared suggestions on future academic exchanges.

Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication and further advance practical cooperation in student and early-career researcher exchanges, joint research, and international collaborative projects.
