专业概述
生物工程系源于1988年江西工业大学食品工业学院设立的粮食工程(发酵工程),于2001年正式开设生物工程本科专业。2005年获批生物工程专业硕士点,2006年获批发酵工程学术硕士点,2020年入选江西省一流本科专业,2021年获批生物与医药博士点和生物工程学术硕士点。
生物工程系现有专任教师38人,其中教授(研究员)17人、副教授(含副研究员和高级实验师)15人,92%的教师拥有博士学位。开设有微生物发酵工程、合成生物工程、环境生物工程等三个研究方向。生物工程专业已通过国家工程教育专业认证,获批国家级一流本科专业建设点,并在江西省第二轮本科专业评估中获评唯一的“五星专业”。
The Department of Bioengineering
Overview
The Department of Bioengineering at Nanchang University originated from the Grain Engineering (Fermentation Engineering) program established by the College of Food Industry, Jiangxi University of Technology in 1988. It was officially launched as a undergraduate program in Bioengineering in 2001. In 2005, it was approved for a master’s degree program in Bioengineering; in 2006, it gained authorization for an academic master’s degree program in Fermentation Engineering; in 2020, it was selected as the first-class undergraduate major of Jiangxi Province; in 2021, it was approved to set up doctoral programs in Biology and Medicine, and academic master’s programs in Bioengineering.
Currently, the department comprises 38 full-time faculty members, including 17 professors (researchers) and 15 associate professors (including associate researchers and senior laboratory technicians), and 92% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees. Its research focuses on three core areas: Microbial Fermentation Engineering, Synthetic Biotechnology Engineering, and Environmental Bioengineering. The Bioengineering major has passed the China Engineering Education Accreditation, been approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, and obtained five-star accreditation as the only major in the second round of provincial undergraduate major evaluations in Jiangxi Province.
